ASI Offers New Benefit Program

A new member voluntary benefit program offered by NASW's insurance arm, NASW Assurance Services, Inc. (ASI), now permits NASW members to save money on their auto, homeowners, condo and renters insurance with programs available through Liberty Mutual.

"NASW Assurance Services chose Liberty Mutual to provide NASW members auto, home, and renters insurance because they offer high-quality, competitively priced programs at a discount to NASW members, along with an emergency roadside assistance service, that can add to personal safety and security," said Tony Benedetto, executive vice president for NASW Assurance Services. "We're also pleased to work with them because of their commitment to social responsibility and to giving back to the community."

Liberty Mutual provides millions in grants each year to support education, health care and social service initiatives to help children, families, the homeless and others who need assistance. They have also created an online community at [site deleted], where people can discuss making a difference in people's lives.

"Liberty Mutual has been operating a very efficient administrative system that reduces their costs, and those reduced costs are reflected in their premiums, which are already very competitive in price. Because NASW Assurance Services made this arrangement with Liberty Mutual, Liberty will give an additional discount to NASW members in states that allow members of associations to receive them," Benedetto said.

For more information on discounts available, coverage terms and enrollment, members can visit the ASI Website or call (888) 403-3727. The Web site will automatically recognize members and the phone number is a special toll free number for NASW members. Information is also available on Liberty Mutual's Emergency Roadside Assistance service, which is a free service for all auto policy holders.

An explanation of the program, as well as information about contacting Liberty Mutual, will be mailed to all members in July. The NASW Assurance Services Web site also provides additional information, and members can access it at anytime.

NASW Assurance Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NASW, responsible for designing, securing, and overseeing high-quality, competitive insurance, financial, and other programs and services offered to social workers.

To celebrate the new program, Liberty Mutual launched the Get Eco-Smart with Liberty Mutual Sweepstakes. Members who enter the sweepstakes have a chance of winning a Smart Fortwo car. The sweepstakes ends on Aug. 31.

"We are really excited about this new program," said NASW Executive Director Elizabeth J. Clark. "Our hope is that our members will take advantage of these great new benefits."
