Too Busy To Write Congress?  Let Us Do It For You!
Visit the NASW website and add your name to a draft letter that you can edit and email to your Members of Congress from the advocacy section of the website.  The draft email/letter is available at:

Background

Earlier this year, Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2007(GINA), H.R. 493/ S. 358 was introduced in congress. GINA would protect Americans from the misuse of genetic information in employment and health insurance decisions. Without this protection many Americans may forego genetic testing out of the fear that they or their family members will be discriminated against.

NASW Involvement

As a member of the Coalition for Genetic Fairness and the Genetic Alliance, NASW has advocated for the passage of GINA through hill visits, telephone calls and other advocacy efforts.  GINA is currently moving through Committee hearings and mark-ups.  Now is the time for your legislators to hear from you regarding the importance of this bill. Please contact your Senators and Representative to co-sponsor the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2007(GINA), H.R. 493/ S. 358.
