Sharing Innovations in Long-Term Care Quality

NASW is a member of the Health Care Financing Administration’s (HCFA) new project, Sharing Innovations in Quality (SIQ). This project is an effort to address the Nursing Home Reform Act requirements to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents. SIQ aims to develop an ongoing repository of best practices and innovative ideas that can be accessed on line in the near future.

NASW strongly advocates for the important role that professional social work can have in improving quality of life in long-term care, and strongly urges its members to participate in this project. You can participate by submitting innovations, encouraging others to make submissions, and by accessing the information when it comes on-line.

Three kinds of information are being sought:

Materials explaining topics, criteria for selection, and submission forms can be accessed on-line from HCFA at: http://cms.hhs.gov/medicare/hsqb/siq/qualhmpg.htm

Don’t worry about "fancy" presentation of your ideas. If you have questions or don’t have access to Internet, you can obtain a copy of the information and submission packet from me:
