Military Cultural Competence

In this course social workers will learn that the military is a sub-culture in its own right and receive an introduction to the military branches, rank structure, values, recent large-scale conflicts, deployments, reintegration, and more. Participants will be encouraged to take a strengths-based approach, avoid assumptions, and be curious and mindful of the unique experiences of the Service Member, Veteran, or family member.
