The enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) in March 2010 marked a turning point in social welfare history in the United States. This webinar will examine the background to and development of the PPACA and consider its limits and possibilities. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of how social workers might advocate for policies that move beyond the PPACA and further address the structural roots of health status and inequalities.
