This presentation will examine the implications and opportunities for social work practice, advocacy, and research in domestic violence through new policies in The Affordable Care Act (ACA), ensuring annual screening and counseling for lifetime exposure to domestic violence and interpersonal violence (IPV) as a core women's prevention benefit.
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) with expanded services for diverse communities, including LGBT, Native American women, immigrant women, and college students on campus.
This presentation has been approved for 1 contact hour of Domestic Violence continuing education credit for social workers.
