NASW LGBTQ Out of Home Youth
Train the Master Trainer

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Questioning (LGBTQ) Out of Home Youth Project is designed to help build the capacity, awareness and skills of social workers and other child welfare professionals to better serve the needs of LGBTQ youth living in foster care, juvenile justice centers and homeless shelters.   In partnership with Lambda Legal,  40 master trainers from throughout the United States completed a two-day Train the Trainer Program in spring 2009.   These trainers, in turn, will provide workshops addressing LGBTQ youth to social workers and child welfare professionals in their communities.

Copies of the Trainer and Participant manuals will be available in the Fall of 2009.
