Bylaws Task Force

Charge
Authorization and Accountability

The Bylaws Review Task Force is authorized by ansd accountable to the National Board of Directors.

Purpose

The task force is established to identify, review and recommend changes in content or structure of governance and operational procedures that are bylaws mandated. Recommendations will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval to be placed on the Delegate Assembly agenda.

Timeframe

The task force will begin its work in the Fall of 2003 and will finalize its work in a timeframe that allows all matters to be processed and approved for inclusion on the final agenda for the 2005 Delegate Assembly.

Members, Terms and Criteria

The task force will consist of no less than three members of the Board of Directors, a chapter president and a chapter executive director. Task force members will be appointed by the national President to serve until their task is completed.

Specific Responsibilities
  1. Study work done previously in this area.
  2. Review and recommend changes to the bylaws that are consistent with the Association's overall mission and purpose.
  3. Identify proposed bylaws amendments.
  4. Examine and consider the implications of recommendations for proposed changes from interest groups and recommend responses as appropriate.
  5. Develop timeframe for the completion of a proposed set of recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  6. Assist in the formulation of a process for presenting proposed amendments on the floor of the Assembly.
