Authorization and Accountability
The Gosnell Memorial Scholarship Panel was established in April 1991 by
action of the NASW Board of Directors in response to a generous bequest made by
Consuelo Gosnell who had special interests in American Indian and Latino
populations.
The panel reports to the Development Committee through the Awards Committee.
Funds are collected through the Social Work Research and Education
Fund.
Purpose
The Gosnell Memorial Scholarship Panel will recommend a program for selecting
annual winners of the Gosnell Scholarship Awards to be used exclusively for
masters degree candidates in social work.
Time Frame
The Gosnell Memorial Scholarship Panel continues to the extent that there are
funds available.
Members, Terms and Criteria
The Panel shall consist of four (4) members. Membership should include
individuals from American Indian and Latino populations.
Specific Responsibilities
The program shall include criteria for eligibility, consideration and
selection. The panel will name the winning candidates and establish a timetable
for announcing these awards annually.
