Hope Conference Speakers

rafiq razaRafiq Raza MSW, Global War on Terrorism Outreach Therapist
               
Mr. Raza received his Masters of Social Work from the University of Central Florida in May 2010. He enlisted in the US Army as an Intelligence Analyst in January 2000. Upon completion of his advanced individual training in August of 2000, he was assigned to an interrogation company within the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Seoul Korea. On September 10, 2001 Mr. Raza reported to Fort Drum NY to in process. There he completed two successful combat tours in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom 1 & 4 with the 10th Mountain Infantry Division (Light) Bagram, Afghanistan. He has been employed with the Orlando Vet Center since 2005.

In July of 2005, Mr. Raza was hired by Readjustment Counseling Services Orlando Vet Center, as one of one hundred recently separated war zone veterans and given the mission of outreaching to fellow war zone veterans within his community. Mr. Raza educates and assists fellow war veterans on their benefits and provides readjustment counseling services in group and individual sessions and brings firsthand knowledge of federal veteran benefits. Mr. Raza also assists veterans with financial hardships locate jobs and financial support from within the community.
