MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Responsible for managing the daily operations of NASW Press' marketing unit and the development and implementation of the marketing strategy. Responsible for generating non-dues revenue. Work activities are performed under broad supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Skills: Requires management, financial, supervisory, interpersonal, and marketing skills. Requires administrative and organizational abilities. Requires analytical skills, copywriting, design, and production skills. Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must have ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Expertise with staff development is essential. Must also have the ability to conceive and develop new promotional vehicles.
• Knowledge: Requires an extensive knowledge of marketing and promotion principles and techniques. Requires knowledge of business and financial management. Must have a working knowledge of statistical analysis and distribution services. Must be conversant with the newest technology in publishing. Familiarity with library and university markets channels a plus. Requires working knowledge of production process in publishing. Requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing.
• Experience: Requires 6-8 years of prior related work and supervisory experience in addition to the educational requirement. Requires substantial marketing experience, including print and web copywriting. Experience in association marketing is a plus.
