Welcome to the NASW SHIFT Project for Suicide Prevention with Adolescent Girls toolkit.

Our goal is to provide resources and tools that will assist you, as agency administrators , community stakeholders and practitioners,  in adopting evidence-based programs (EBPs)  in your agency and community practice settings.

Our focus

  • Suicide prevention for adolescent girls
  • Promoting and supporting a state research to practice strategy for evidence-based practice adoption through this web-based toolkit

Our vehicle

  • State Research to Practice (R2P) teams

The SHIFT Project R2P team is a state-based coalition of change-oriented organizations and individuals working to promote the adoption of evidence-based suicide prevention programs for adolescent girls.

Our Rationale

  • Evidence based research has not permeated practice settings

  • State-level stakeholders are in a position to advocate and facilitate this SHIFT to Evidence-based programs, reaching a broader cross-section of direct practitioners.
  • A state R2P team can serve as a catalyst for broad EBP adoption
