Eligibility Criteria

Application for Training of Trainers (pdf file)

For the three curricula listed below, the candidate must have excellent oral communication skills and be experienced in teaching, supervising, and public lecturing.   

College Curriculum: Additional Criteria

1. Minimum Degree: Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology; MSW in clinical social work; MD with training in psychiatry; Masters (MS.N.) or Doctorate level in psychiatric nursing.

2. Five or more years as a practicing clinician in a college student counseling center or equivalent setting working with college-aged students. Experience as the Director of a counseling center is preferable, but not mandatory. Currently licensed to practice.

3. Familiarity with the subject matter (developmental psychology; psychotherapy; medications; assessment and crisis intervention, applicable laws and statutes re: confidentiality & medical record keeping) as evidenced by: coursework, lecturing, publications, attendance at conferences, etc.

EAP Curriculum: Additional Criteria

1. Minimum Degree: Terminal degree in a clinical, counseling, or related field.

2. Five or more years of employment in an employee assistance program.  Currently licensed to practice.

3. Familiarity with the subject matter (workplace issues; family issues; alcohol & drug abuse treatment and rehab; depression in the workplace; marital therapy) as evidenced by: coursework, lecturing, publications, attendance at conferences, etc.

Clinical Curriculum: Additional Criteria

1. Minimum degreesame as for College Curriculum.

2. Five or more years as a practicing clinician in an outpatient clinical setting (with inpatient experience), inpatient unit (with outpatient experience), emergency room or crisis intervention setting.  Currently licensed to practice.

3. Familiarity with the subject matter (risk assessment; clinical intervention; emergency/crisis intervention; management; prevention) as evidenced by: lecturing, attending workshops/conferences, publishing, supervising, training graduate students, and research in clinical suicidology.
