March, Rally, and Advocacy Day Update
The National Association of Social Workers has endorsed the Campaign
to End AIDS (C2EA), a nationwide coalition of individuals, groups,
and organizations working to ensure an effective government response
to end the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Caravans comprised of vans, buses,
cars, trains, and individuals on foot are currently traveling through
all fifty states, and will be arriving in Washington, DC November
5 for a series of actions ranging from lobby visits to training events. The
C2EA will culminate with a demonstration and in Washington, DC in
November.
The goal of the Campaign to End AIDS is to organize, mobilize,
and revitalize the AIDS movement in the U.S, and is premised on four
key Issues:
- Fully fund quality treatment and support services for all people
living with HIV everywhere.
- Ramp up HIV prevention at home and abroad, guided by science
rather than ideology.
- Increase research to find a cure, more effective treatments and
better prevention tools.
- Fight AIDS stigma and protect the civil rights of all people
with HIV and AIDS everywhere.
