Dear colleagues,
The Union of Social Workers and Social Pedagogues of Russia invites everybody to Russia for the Forum which will take place in Siberia.
It will be the Second Forum. The first Forum took place in Siberia in Republic of Tuva in June 2006. The attendance was rather impressive – 10 countries of the Asia Pacific regions including Australia, New Zealand, China, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Nepal and 14 regions of Russia participated.
The decision of participants was to organize such Forums every year.
The Forum will concentrate on the issues of families in the modern society. We plan to discuss:
- The role of social workers in raising the status and prestige of the family
- The challenges for families with disabled children.
- Problems of adoption and fostering
- Inter-generational relationships in the families.
- Abuse of children and elderly people in the family.
- Violence towards women.
- Families who have lost their loved ones in catastrophes and terrorist attacks
- Families of social workers
All this broad spectrum of families of the modern globalization process.
Special attention of the conference will be focused on social work in the rural areas of Siberia and Far East.
In Russia social services provision in Khanty-Mansiisk is very well known. It is one of the best and well developed in Russia. Khanty-Mansiisk is among the richest regions in Russia (the first Forum in Tuva took place in the poorest area of Russia). Small Siberian nationalities “Khanty” and “Mancy” gave their name to the region.
There will be no fee for the Forum you will just need to pay for your accommodation and food. Do not loose your chance!!! Hurry up as places are limited!!! The registration will be closed 15 of May 2007.

Khanty-Mansiisk is situated 3 and a half hours flight from Moscow to the East.

27 , June – work continues, field visits, travel by comfortable buses to Khanty-Mansiisk
