Military Branches
There are seven uniformed services of the United States:

- Marine Corps

- Motto: “Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful”
- Mission:
- The seizure or defense of advanced naval based and other land operations to support naval campaigns.
- The development of tactics, techniques, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces.
- Such other duties as the President may direct.

- Mission: Protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of our Nation. As America’s uniformed service of public health professionals, the Commission Corps achieves its mission through:
- Rapid and effective response to public health needs
- Leadership and excellence in public health practices
- Advancement of public health science
- Core Values: Leadership, Service, Integrity, and Excellence
- Responsibility: Deliver the Nation’s public health promotion and disease prevention programs and advancing public health science.
- Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals
- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps
- Department of Commerce
- Noncombatant uniformed service
- Core Values: Honor, Respect, and Commitment
- Mission: Provide officers technically competent to assume positions of leadership and command in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Department of Commerce (DOC) programs and in the Armed Forces during times of war or national emergency. Discipline and flexibility are inherent in the Corps personnel system. Officers are trained for positions of leadership and command in the operation of ships and aircraft; in the conduct of field projects on land, at and under the sea, and in the air; in the management of NOAA observational and support facilities; as members or leaders of research efforts; and in the management of various organizational elements throughout NOAA.
