- Boston University provides courses on military families, and conducts federally-funded research on military families

- Fayetteville State University
- James Madison University offers a course, “Military Families: Issues and Service” for BSW students and Family Studies minors.
- Monmouth University School of Social Work—Coming Home Project
- National Catholic School of Social Service—Military Social Work Content, Specialization, and Initiative Center
- Smith College School for Social Work offers courses in theory, clinical practice, social policy and a WEB based telephonic clinical seminar to our MSW students and a range of CE courses in our Continuing Education program. Smith also offers eight month long clinical internships at Walter Reed National Medical Center and 17 Veterans Administration Hospital settings throughout the country.

SUNY Empire State College has created a veteran services certificate program designed specifically for those working with veterans. The vision for this program is to provide relevant graduate level courses to those helping veterans to enable them to act as advocates for the veteran’s community. - University of Central Florida School of Social Work
