NASW Announces “The Road to Recovery” Webcast Series Beginning February 4, 2004

As a planning partner for the 15th Annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month ( Recovery Month ), the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is proud to announce a Webcast on February 4, 2004, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (EST).

The Webcast on February 4 th is the first of 10 that will provide information about Recovery Month activities and discuss key issues relevant to individuals in recovery.

In the program scheduled for February 4th , the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) salutes the talented and dedicated organizations and individuals who created opportunities to educate their communities about the value and benefits of alcohol and drug addiction treatment, and the professionals who provided these needed services.

Join host Ivette Torres, associate director for consumer affairs, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), SAMHSA, to learn more about the 2004 Recovery Month celebration, and how event organizers in 2003 used available resources from SAMHSA to raise public awareness at the local level.

CSAT and NASW hope that highlighting these successes will encourage other organizations to sponsor Recovery Month events in 2004. To get more details and view a short trailer about this Webcast, visit the Recovery Month Web site at: http://www.recoverymonth.gov/2004/multimedia/w.aspx?ID=242

The theme for Recovery Month 2004 is “Join the Voices for Recovery…Now!” Visit http://www.recoverymonth.gov/2004/ to obtain additional information about Recovery Month 2004, including dates of upcoming Webcasts and to sign-up to receive regular updates about Recovery Month events.
