Social Workers Remember September 11 — One Year Later

As social workers, NASW recognizes the characteristics of resiliency — that capacity to look deep, find strength and go on in the face of great disasters and personal loss. The terrorist attack last September emphasized the resiliency of the American people and of the communities and individuals directly affected by those horrific events.

As we remember this tragic day and honor those who lost and surrendered their lives in New York City, Washington, DC and on board Flight 93, NASW realizes the accomplishments and sacrifices individuals, families, and communities everywhere have made to come together in the face of adversity.
