Healthy Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Students Project

The National Association of Social Workers is a collaborative partners with The Healthy Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Students Project, housed at the American Psychological Association. The Project is working to strengthen the capacity of the nation's schools to prevent the behavioral health risks of gay, lesbian, and bisexual students through knowledge development, dissemination, and application, working with and through national organizations of school stakeholders. The Project seeks to reduce risks of HIV infection, sexually transmitted diseases, and other important health problems of these youth.

NASW is lending professional expertise towards the goal of meeting the needs of gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth by increasing the health assessment skills of school social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other health and mental health professionals.
