Dear NASW Member:

Words cannot describe our grief as we watch the severe loss of human life and devastation resulting from the effects of hurricane Katrina. We know that social workers in the gulf region must also have been impacted by this disaster. We mourn the loss of lives and hope that the rescue efforts will proceed with speed and precision so that many more can be saved.

Rebuilding the affected areas will take time. NASW is responding to the immediate needs through our partnership with the American Red Cross. We have posted information on our Web site so members can offer their assistance in the most effective ways that will aid the disaster relief efforts.
