Social Work Month 2010 Community Action Heroes

Using this year's Social Work Month theme of "Social Workers Inspire Community Action" as a springboard, NASW is showcasing "community action heroes": social workers who have inspired community-wide change.

 We asked what the nominee did to organize people, resources and allies to improve the lives of individuals in their community—or across the country.  Nominations included a campaign description, the geographic area served by their efforts, and the impact their contribution has had on the community. 

By highlighting these community leaders, we are able to demonstrate how social workers make positive change happen for thousands of people every day. New profiles will be added throughout March.
