Fund National Advertising
Through the NASW Foundation, the social work profession has been able to fund national advertising projects over the last several years. Donations made to the National Social Work Public Education Campaign have helped place print advertising in O Magazine, More Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, TV Week/NewsPro and the Military Times. These funds also helped several chapters place billboards, bus ads and other transit promotions between 2005 and 2010. The campaign even ran a multimedia advertisement on a Jumbotron in Times Square for New Year’s Eve one year.
Some chapters are sponsoring advertising campaigns in major dailies during Social Work Month 2011.
The Help Starts Here campaign advertisements have since been used in numerous event program booklets for advocacy groups and allied partner organizations, as well as other trade publications. The Schools of Social Work were instrumental in placing the story ads in Oprah Magazine in 2006, and we hope to raise similar excitement about the 2011 plan to place advertising on NPR—National Public Radio.
NPR Advertising
NASW would like to run 10-second radio announcements in all U.S. markets during NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered news hours. We must raise private donations to make the NPR ads possible this year, but we believe the wide exposure for social work on a respected national news program is a good investment.
If you would like to help support this year’s “NASW on NPR” advertising campaign, you can donate in one of three ways:
- National Social Work Public Education Campaign
- Public Education Campaign Facebook Cause
- Checks to the NASW Foundation
