NASW Standards for Social Work Practice in Child Welfare
The child welfare system serves some of our nation’s most vulnerable and troubled children and families. The goal of child welfare services is to provide an array of prevention and intervention services to children and families, particularly children who have been or are at risk of abuse or neglect; children with special medical or mental health needs; delinquent children; and children who do not have adult caregivers.
