Mental Health

Subject Line: Local Spokesperson Available to Comment Social Workers Role in (Month/Week/Date)

The power of social work affects people here in our community and we'd like to tell you about it.

Mental illness has a way of making people feel uncomfortable. It's a problem that most wish would just go away. Factor in addictions and emotional traumas from disasters, and it's easy to see that mental illness affects more people in (name of community) than you can imagine.

That's where trained social workers step in. According to government health statistics, 60 percent of the nation's mental health services are delivered by social workers. In addition, social workers provide more than 40 percent of disaster-related mental health services for the American Red Cross.

If you're interested in learning more about the (month/week/date), I can set up an interview with (name, title). They can provide insight and knowledge on the mental health services available to the people of (local community).

Additionally, we may also be able to introduce you to those who've been helped first-hand by local social workers, who can tell you how their lives have changed for the better.

Please contact me, (name), at (phone). Thank you for your consideration.

(Local Chapter or Organization Boilerplate)

Note: A boilerplate is a short paragraph that best summarizes the "who" and "what" of your chapter or organization. The paragraph should remain constant throughout all e-pitches or press releases. See example below.
