August 1997 - December 31, 1998. NASW/Indiana Chapter has added the words, "100 Years of Professional Social Work" to its postage meter.

December 1997. NASW/Michigan "Letter to the Editor" published in ASAE Association Management Magazine. The letter provided the magazine’s national readership with a social work history lesson after a previous issue inadvertently referred to the Jane Addams Hull House as just a "nonprofit social service agency in Chicago."

March, 1998. Saint Francis Hospital, Tulas, OK Social Work Department celebrated Social Work Month and the Centennial of Professional Social Work during the first week in March, 1988. Wall display located near the cafeteria featured 100 years of Social Work. A time line with major events of the profession, posters, power point presentation of basic, independent, and specialized social workers (definitions, characteristics, etc.). Also included was information on stress reduction, living wills, authorization for treatment of minors, and a drawing for a free massage from the health center.

Day began with a legislative briefing, followed by a march to the Capitol. Senators and Representatives were told about concerns about welfare reform, affordable housing, and access to health and mental health care. Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, North Carolina celebrates Social Work Month with display board and NASW literature on the social work profession.

St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City, MO celebrated the centennial with a Birthday Celebration at the Health Center attended by 10 social workers, co-workers and friends. Included in the celebration: poster displays, cake and punch and band singing "Happy Birthday." Hospital Administrators and others expressed their appreciation for the expertise that social work provides to the patients and families of the community.
