Affirmative Action

This revised affirmative action policy statement incorporates substantial changes to the existing policy. It specifies a working definition of affirmative action, and it includes an expanded explanation of the historical and political contexts within which modern-day affirmative action has evolved. Additional content areas that are consistent with NASW’s position on affirmative action have strengthened the policy statement, which now better reflects current literature and events with regard to affirmative action.
