Find a Clinical
Social Worker
The NASW Register of Clinical Social Workers provides
a listing of clinical social workers that have met national
standards for education and experience established by the NASW
Competence Certification Commission.
Diversity & Equity
NASW is committed to social justice for all. Discrimination
and prejudice directed against any group are damaging to the
social, emotional, and economic well-being of the affected
group and of society as a whole. NASW has a strong affirmative
action program that applies to national and chapter leadership
and staff. It supports three national committees on equity
issues: the National Committee on Women's Issues, National
Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity and the National Committee
on Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Issues.
NASW Center For
Workforce Studies
The NASW Center for Workforce Studies is established to conduct
studies of the current social work labor force in order to
determine trends in employment, training needs, barriers to
quality service delivery, and to advance the role of the profession
in multiple systems of care.
Profession
People looking for a career with meaning, action, diversity,
satisfaction, and an abundance of options are often drawn to
social work. Social workers are highly trained professionals
who care about people, who want to make things better, who
want to relieve suffering, who want their work to make a difference.
Student
Center
A rich resource for those interested in finding out more about
the profession of social work and those students who have already
chosen social work as a career. Filled with educational resources
from schools to scholarships, this page also brings the student
social work population together and guides them to be active
and informed about what is happening in the profession.
Legal
Defense Fund
NASW's Legal Defense Fund (LDF),
established in 1972, provides financial legal assistance and
support for legal cases and issues of concern to NASW members
and the social work profession. LDF also supports educational
projects and programs to improve the legal status and knowledge
of the social work profession.
NASW
Assurance Services
The NASW Assurance Services is an entity created in 1967 by the National Association
of Social Workers for the purpose of designing, securing
and overseeing high quality, competitive insurance programs
that are offered to the NASW membership. Through Assurance Services's
insurance programs, the Trustees strive to creatively meet
the changing and diverse insurance needs of social workers,
thereby enhancing the value of NASW membership as well. The
Trustees, who are five social workers, are fiduciaries and
are ever mindful of their commitment to maintaining the financial
stability and fiscal integrity of the NASW Insurance Trust.
Social
Work Speaks Abstracts
Social Work Speaks, Sixth Edition presents, in one
comprehensive and unabridged collection, the policy statements
adopted by the NASW Delegate Assembly in August 2005. For social
work policymakers, educators, students, and individuals, this
user-friendly volume can assist in developing organizational
responses to policy issues, conducting policy analysis and
study, and working in political action coalitions. Each entry
includes background material, an issue statement, a policy
statement, legislative history, and references.
Social Work Research
Social work research addresses psychosocial problems, preventive interventions, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and community, organizational, policy and administrative issues. Covering the lifespan, social work research may address clinical, services and policy issues. It benefits consumers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and the general public.
