Regardless of your practice environment, the question is not if you will work with parents raising children between two homes, but when. There are multiple challenges related to working with this growing segment of the population but social workers, with an emphasis on family systems thinking and person-in-environment assessment, are uniquely equipped to address the needs of these families. This seminar will cover issues such as how to involve both parents in your work with their children, how to handle situations where one parent is resistant or undermining, boundary issues regarding forensic versus therapeutic roles, and a host of other ethical pitfalls that present when providing services to this population.
1 Social Work CEU will be provided.
