LA25RM_108: "NASW-LA New Orleans Region Sponsored Workshop" FREE for Members. Topic:  Chronic Pain.  Presented by: Kate Lufkin, DSW, LCSW-BACS.  Upon completion of this course, participants will receive tools:  (1) To increase understanding of chronic pain and the incidence and prevalence of both.  (2) Consider the unique issues and psychosocial factors impacting people living with chronic pain.  (3) Increase awareness of chronic pain and provide education on research backed effective ways of working with adults who experience chronic pain.  2.00 Clinical hours.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.

 

Presenter Bio


Dr. Lufkin completed her Masters in Social Work in 2006 and her Doctorate in Social Work in 2017, both at Tulane. She currently works for Ochsner Health Systems in the Department of Functional Restoration working with chronic pain patients and handles all research for her program. She is also an adjunct instructor at the Tulane University School of Social Work. Prior to her current jobs, she worked as a clinical counselor for the US Navy and US Marine Corps and a Clinical Research Coordinator in the department of Genetics and Complex Diseases at the Harvard University School of Public Health.
