On February 3, 2026, the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026 passed Congress and was signed into law by President Trump. The enacted bill includes extending coverage flexibilities for Medicare telehealth services through December 31, 2027.
Included in the telehealth flexibilities extensions is a delay of the 6-month in-person requirement for telemental health services through December 31, 2027.
NASW is working to make the telehealth flexibilities permanent by supporting the CONNECT for Health Act (S. 1261/H.R. 4206) and the Telemental Healthcare Access Act (S. 2011/H.R. 3884).
