Student Series: Beyond Self-Care: Implementing the R.E.A.C.T. Model to Strengthen Workforce Wellness and Burnout Prevention in Child Welfare

Monday, October 26, 2026

3-4pm ET | 6-7pm PT

FREE for all social work students

Burnout continues to challenge the social work profession, particularly in child welfare, where high caseloads, secondary traumatic stress, and workforce turnover affect both professionals and the individuals they serve. This presentation introduces the R.E.A.C.T. Model, an evidence-informed workforce wellness framework developed through doctoral scholarship to move beyond traditional self-care by integrating resilience, emotional awareness, structured activity, meaningful connection, and intentional transition into organizational practice. Participants will learn how the model can be used to strengthen workforce wellness, enhance organizational readiness, and support sustainable implementation of wellness initiatives within social service organizations.

Speaker: Dr. Jonathean Reese, DSW, MFT, CPT, IFBB Pro
