NASW Welcomes New Members to National Board of Directors

NASW held its national election of officers and members of the NASW board of directors earlier this year. The board consists of four officers, two members-at-large, 13 regional members and two student members (one at the baccalaureate level and one at the master’s level).

NASW members who were eligible to vote cast their ballots for candidates for the open seats on the board for 2021. The following candidates received the top votes to win a three-year term on the board, 2021-24. The student member term lasts two years, 2021-23.

Vice President

Anthony Estreet of Maryland. Estreet is a tenured associate professor at Morgan State University. He obtained his PhD from Morgan State University, his MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his MBA from University of Maryland. Estreet has held several positions within NASW at the national and state levels.

Treasurer

Ryan Estes of North Carolina is the treatment operations director for Coastal Horizons Center. Estes received his MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill, an MBA from UNC-Wilmington, and a BA in psychology from Wake Forest University. Estes is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed clinical addiction specialist.

Region III (New York State)

Bidania Criscuolo is a high school social worker in Nassau County. She obtained an MSW, with a concentration in integrated health, from Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare. She is the recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, including the Health Resources and Services Administration grant.

Region IV (Ohio, Pennsylvania)

Sierra McNeil of Pennsylvania. McNeil serves as the coordinator at Family Resource Network, where she works with family members of loved ones in the behavioral system. She trains providers on the importance of family inclusion in the recovery process for adults in the behavioral health system.

Region VI (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey)

Jenny Conger of New Jersey. Conger is a social work coordinator at Penn Medicine Princeton House and has been working in the field of mental health and addiction recovery for the past 10 years. She earned her MSW at Rutgers University and holds LCSW and LCADC licensure in the state of New Jersey.

Region VIII (Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin)

Kristi Wood of Wisconsin. Wood is a lecturer and faculty field liaison in the Department of Social Work, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a foster parent trainer for the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development system. She holds an MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Region IX (Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota)

Anthony Bibus of Minnesota. Bibus is a social worker licensed by Minnesota’s Board of Social Work. He holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota School of Social Work and an MA and BA in English. In 2012, he retired from Augsburg University’s Social Work Department, where he served as the BSW director and department chair.

BSW Student Member

Alexis Gallegos of Washington State. Gallegos is a student at Eastern Washington University (EWU). He serves in a volunteer capacity as secretary with the EWU Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
