As many of you are reading this, it’s March: The month each year when we recognize and celebrate social workers for all you do for individuals, families, communities and society as a whole.

This year’s theme—“Social Workers: Uplift. Defend. Transform.” —honors the profession’s mission “to enhance human well-being, meet the basic human needs of all people, and put special attention on the needs of people who are vulnerable, oppressed and living in poverty.” Read more about Social Work Month in the NASW News section (p. 8) and at socialworkmonth.org.

Articles in this issue highlight how social workers and NASW are working to find solutions to the challenges our society is facing during these uncertain times. From the cover story on social isolation and loneliness to the news articles about ICE raids and the Department of Education’s decision to drop social work degrees from “professional” status, this issue aims to inform members and offer ways to get involved.

Thank you for all you do.

Until next time,

Laetitia
