NASW members Chelsea Laliberte Barnes and Jimmy Salyers talk about how the pandemic has exacerbated the addiction crisis in the United States.

Chelsea Laliberte Barnes, MSSA, LSW, CCTP, supports and guides community members via her psychotherapy practice and as a nonprofit and leadership consultant. She has helped to write and pass more than 20 Illinois and 3 federal laws that advance mental health and substance use treatment, harm reduction, and social supports. She is running for Illinois State House in the 51st District.

Jimmy Salyers, MSW, CSW, LCADC, KPSS, is a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor associate and certified social worker. He is a NASW Kentucky Chapter Board Member and chair of the chapter’s Legislative and Advocacy Committee.
