This webinar is an introduction to practice principles for working with the lesbian, gay, and bisexual populations, covering proper terminology, medical issues, legal changes, making your agency more inclusive, handling clinicians' personal biases, and more, specific to the experiences and needs of the older adult age group. Also included is information regarding lesbian and gay couples, marriages, and families, as well as the coming out process; its risks and rewards. Social workers will walk away with a general overview of the specific needs of what is estimated to be more than 10% of the US population, many of whom are older adults.
1.5 Cross Cultural CEs will be provided.
