  • NASW and its 55 chapters are one organization legally, financially, and programmatically.
  • There is a Chapter Services Department at the National Office that supports the chapters.
  • NASW has chapters in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam.
  • Each chapter has a board of directors that develops unique programs to better serve its members and to facilitate participation by its members.
  • Members interested in international social work should contact the North Carolina Chapter and/or NASW staff.

Get Involved in NASW Membership

  • Through your chapter you can volunteer for committees and task forces, write articles for your chapter's newsletter, help plan events, serve on the chapter board, become a regional representative, and run for other offices.
  • You can become active on the national level by getting involved in one of NASW's national committees.
