Mental-Hop is a symposium style workshop that takes Social Workers and Change Agents on a journey to better understand how Mental-Health & Hip-Hop can be utilized together to positively impact the lives of those we serve.

1-2 p.m.

This session will help identify and explore the many ways black and brown people have been harmed in both explicit and insidious ways. The harm has resulted in generations of psychological, emotional and physiological turmoil. To help mitigate the hurt done, we will investigate healing practices that social workers can implement to help reduce harm, restore and heal black and brown folks in toxic environments.

6:30-9:45 p.m.

This workshop will allow participants to navigate controversial and challenging ethical dilemmas encountered in the Emergency Department.

This year’s conference theme is "Social Workers—Essential and Prepared," which sheds light on the fact that Social Workers are essential to community well-being.

9:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. ET

This workshop will explore the questions of what social workers need to know to support their clients’ spiritual journeys sensitively and ethically through the process of therapy.
