BSF has grown from a few military spouses around a kitchen table to more than 150,000 members and over 35 communities and chapters around the globe. BSF programs and services reach more than 1.5 million military families every year.
The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) focuses on ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition. MCEC performs research, develops resources, conducts professional institutes and conferences, and develops and publishes resources.
Military Family Caucus - House
The Congressional Military Family Caucus seeks to educate Members of Congress and their staff on resources the military has for families. Specifically, the Congressional Military Family Caucus focuses on issues such as education, childcare, healthcare, spousal employment, and the effects of multiple deployments. Through educating Member of Congress, it is our hope that the Congressional Military Family Caucus will be able to develop legislation to better support our nation's military families.
Military Family Research Institute
Through research and outreach, the Military Family Research Institute (MFRI) works closely with collaborators to improve the lives of service members and their families in Indiana and across the country. More than 2 million military service members have been deployed since Sept. 11, 2001, many serving multiple tours in combat zones thousands of miles from home. Their families serve too, managing challenges and opportunities unique to the military lifestyle
