Schools of Social Work

The Coming Home Project is an effort by the School of Social Work at Monmouth University to recognize and prepare social work students and community practitioners to meet the needs of returning career, reservist, and National Guard military personnel and their families. While remaining invested in social work’s historic commitment to work for peace, we are also cognizant of our duty to serve vulnerable populations, such as persons who have experienced combat either directly or indirectly.

Smith College School for Social Work offers courses in theory, clinical practice, social policy and a WEB based telephonic clinical seminar to our MSW students and a range of CE courses in our Continuing Education program. Smith also offers eight month long clinical internships at Walter Reed National Medical Center and 17 Veterans Administration Hospital settings throughout the country. 

University of Connecticut offers military and veterans content in MSW curriculum and through professional development activities to social workers and other human services professionals.

University of Nevada, Reno offers education on military and veteran culture through the VetSMART program.The university also offers the master of social work through online courses.

We collaborate with the local, national, and international community to promote social well-being and social justice through dynamic teaching, research, and service.

The mission of the Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families (CIR) at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work is to enhance the visibility and impact of research, education and outreach to inform decision-makers on policy issues affecting veterans and their families.
