Guadalupe G. Lara, LMSW (Michigan Chapter), earned an MSW from Wayne State University and a BS from Central Michigan University. She retired in 2006 from Children’s Hospital of Michigan as an advocate for families. She was named by five different Michigan governors to lead boards and commissions for her advocacy on behalf of the underserved.
Ms. Lara has held numerous leadership positions, is a motivational speaker recognized by over 45 organizations for her work on inclusion and has presented in the United States, Norway, Australia, Mexico and Canada. She recently returned to Detroit as the Director of the Consortium of Hispanic Agencies where she works with the six-member agencies to advocate on behalf of Hispanic issues at the local and state level.
