Ruth Lipschutz, LCSW, ACSW, has a psychotherapy practice, provides mediation to the LGBTQ community, publishes articles on ethics and offers ethics consultation and training nationally. She received her MSW from the University of Illinois and postgraduate certification from the Institute for Family Studies at Northwestern. Her background includes bilingual community mental health, school social work and advocacy.
She was awarded Illinois Social Worker of the Year (2010) and NASW’s Excellence in Ethics Award (2015). She currently serves as Illinois Chapter board member-at-large, member of the Chapter Ethics Committee and national mediator for professional review.
Appointed positions have been NASW Code of Ethics Trainer, national Professional Review Mediator, consultant, and adjudication panel chair, Professional Review Mediation Pilot Project, Illinois Chapter Conference Selection Committee, National Ethics Committee Professional Review Task Force and National Ethics Committee alternate, member and chair. Memberships include the Mediation Council of Illinois and Illinois School Social Work Association.
