Jeanne Cook, PhD, MSW
Jeanne Cook, PhD, MSW, is the MSW program director at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in Charlotte, NC. As program director, she worked with the program faculty to establish the MSW program and receive accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Prior to joining JCSU, Cook was a member of the faculty at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina, for sixteen years. She was responsible for establishing the BSW program and facilitating initial accreditation and reaccreditation by CSWE. She was selected as Coker’s Master Professor for 2000-2001.
Cook completed her MSW (1983) and PhD (1994) at the University of South Carolina. Prior to entering social work education, Cook had 25+ years of experience in child welfare with public and private agencies in South Carolina. Cook has been a member of NASW South Carolina Chapter since the early 1980s. She served as Vice President (2011-13), President Elect (2013-14), and President (2014-16).
