Sharon A. Barber, LGSW, MCAP
Sharon A. Barber, LGSW, MCAP, earned her MSW from Howard University with a focus on macro social work, community, administration, policy. Barber has more than 15 years of experience in advocacy, public policy, project management, program evaluation, and supervision of BSW/MSW students. She earned the licensed graduate social worker credential when she resided in Washington, DC, and gained valuable clinical experience working with adults dually diagnosed with substance use and mental health disorders. She earned the master’s level certified addiction professional credential from the Florida Licensing Board and worked as an addictions professional in a methadone maintenance treatment program.
Barber is the vice chair of the Florida chapter of NASW, Tampa Bay Unit and the Region 1 Representative for the Salvation Army Florida’s Divisional Soldiers Ideas, Needs, and Concerns Executive Committee. In that role, Barber represents more than 3,000 individuals volunteering in more than 150 community programs in Florida
