NASW Colorado Chapter mourns loss of life in Club Q Shooting

DENVER, CO - The NASW Colorado Chapter is devastated by the horrific act of violence that occurred at Club Q on Saturday night. Our hearts are broken, and we are mourning this senseless loss of lives alongside the LGBTQIA2S+ and Colorado Springs communities today.

We are committed to supporting these communities through their grieving process, and we stand with the LGBTQIA2S+ community on this Transgender Day of Remembrance, offering our love and recognition of the overwhelming losses this community continues to endure.

We call on leaders in Colorado and nationally to step up and do more to protect the LGBTQIA2S+ community from the discrimination, hate, and violence that threatens their wellbeing and safety daily, and fuels continued acts of violence that too often end in the preventable loss of lives.
