Tiffany Mayers

Tiffany L. Mayers, DSW, MSW, LCSW, is a Director within Rutgers University, Graduate School of Education, in New Brunswick, NJ. She obtained her DSW from the University of Kentucky, her MSW from Rutgers University, and her BA in Psychology, with a minor in Social Work from Seton Hall University.

Mayers has over 20 years of experience in the fields of psychology and social work, specifically child welfare, behavioral and mental health services, case management, and private clinical practice. Additionally, Mayers worked in NJ State Government in the areas of political campaigns, government records, policy, and urban redevelopment. Her research interests and scholarship contributions include a focus on bridging the gap between the Black community and the field of mental health in hopes of strengthening families, eradicating stigma, and increasing the utilization of mental health services.

Mayers is the owner of Mental Health T Enterprises, a mental health consulting and clinical practice. Mayers recently coauthored a book titled Girl Be Self-ish: Learning to Embrace Your Rhythm of Self-Care (2024). She has been a member of the NASW (NJ) since 2012 and an advisory member of NAMI NJ’s African American program, AACT-NOW, since 2008. Also, Mayers is the Board Vice President for Family Support Organization of Union County (FSO-UC), Vice President for the Rutgers School of Social Work Alumni Council, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., specifically serving the Middlesex & Somerset Counties of NJ.
