Supporting Social Workers Advocating for Educational Equity: An Introduction to First Book

NASW New York State

6 p.m.

This session will introduce attendees to First Book, the nonprofit social enterprise focused on removing the barriers to learning for kids in need.

First Book provides social workers, program leaders, and educators with brand-new, high-quality books, educational resources, and other essentials to help promote learning growth, social-emotional development, and student well-being.

Participants will learn how they can add their voices to the First Book Network to help inform the types of resources offered by First Book and influence thought leaders on educational equity; partner with First Book to gain access to funded opportunities; and how they can connect their partners with First Book to ensure access to free and affordable resources across their communities.
