Courageous Conversation Series: Mental Health and Disaster Response

Please join us for a presentation by Shannon O’Neill, MSW, LSW Regional Recovery Manager American Red Cross Central and Southern Ohio Region.

Shannon O’Neill is the Regional Recovery Manager for the Central and Southern Ohio Region of the American Red Cross. She earned her MSW from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and her BSW at Xavier University. She has worked with the Red Cross since 2015 and has focused her expertise in the recovery phases of disaster response, including the services of casework, disaster mental health, health services, and spiritual care. She serves in a local capacity but also deploys to assist larger disasters including the Marshall Fire in Colorado and Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Prior to the Red Cross, Shannon worked in case management serving formerly homeless adults with mental health diagnoses, international education programs, and conducted a research project on community trauma response in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Palestine.
