This workshop will provide a Trauma (Healing) Informed lens to dealing with the very real struggles of being a direct service professional. Content will include the effects of stress, trauma, secondary trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue, on professionals and program participants. Learn practical approaches to self care that are rooted in Healing (Trauma) Informed Care, and are efficient, effective and free. We professionals need to care well for ourselves so that we can care well for others.

  • Describe stress, trauma, secondary trauma, burnout, &/or compassion fatigue.
  • Identify at least 1 approach to use or to teach a participant to help manage stress, trauma, secondary trauma, burnout, &/or compassion fatigue.
  • Plan to utilize at least 1 approach to help manage stress, trauma, secondary trauma, burnout, &/or compassion fatigue.
