Autogenics & Biofeedback: Professional Self-Care with Mind-Body Skills

VT Chapter - The second of a six-part series on zoom. 2 Formal CEs

Professional Self-Care with Mind-Body Skills -

Autogenics Training & Biofeedback

Laurie Carrera, MSW, LICSW

2 Formal CEs approved by NASW VT

NASW Vermont Chapter is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0683.

The demanding nature of the social work profession often competes with the desire to implement or sustain self-care practices. Each of these six workshop-style webinars provides an opportunity for you to grow on a professional and personal level. Balancing self-care moments and survival mode is an ever-evolving challenge and this training aims to honor that journey. We are best positioned to share and support self-care practices with the people and populations we serve, when we have established a foundation of health and wellness ourselves. This webinar will merge personal mind-body skills with presence and preparation as a professional. Each session includes a didactic, experiential and interactive component related to mind-body medicine skills and their application to overall health and wellness. These skills are easily transferable to your work with clients.

Each week you will be invited to experience and practice a new technique including: breath work and drawings, autogenics and biofeedback, meditation and movement, guided imagery, emotions and journaling and mindful eating.

Autogenics & Biofeedback Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the basics of the biology of mind-body medicine.
  • Explain the technique of Autogenics to regulate the autonomic nervous system.
  • Demonstrate usage of biofeedback to understand our capacity to exercise control over the autonomic nervous system.
